NURS-647: Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship

2 credit hours
Clinical implementation of the role of the nurse practitioner as a primary healthcare provider and leader. It focuses on health promotion, patient education, and therapeutic nursing intervention in common health problems. Collaboration with other healthcare professions in provision of primary healthcare is emphasized. Experience in computerized communication is encouraged. Students may select a clinical area of interest for this experience. Medically underserved clinical sites are encouraged (includes 360 clinical hours).
