ART-162: Illustration I

3 credit hours

Illustrators are design magicians who stimulate the imagination and curiosity for others as they tell visual stories through the use of principles of design. This class will build on your love for drawing by teaching you how to compose using shape, line, texture, scale and composition as a way to develop skills in character development that will ultimately build towards a narrative. Additionally, students will gain an awareness of the various professional paths an illustrator may take. This class touches on the complexity of client-based work which requires artists to create within the set parameters of a specific project and respond to feedback, all the while incorporating their own artistic vision. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
