ART-271: Material and Process

3 credit hours

This course will ask students to explore one form of 3 dimensional making in-depth. Options for making may include traditional sculptural materials, microprocessors and controllers, creative coding, or digital fabrication. Through independent research, exploration, workshop based projects and critiques, students will develop a body of work around a proposed focus at the beginning of session. Emphasis will be placed on inquisition, experimentation and willingness to take risks in the making of the work. The course will culminate in individual presentations on the students research and findings.
