ART-328: The Object, Mass Production and Multiples
3 credit hours
This course focuses on the in-depth study of the multiple and its impact on the aura of the object. Students will explore processes including, mold making, reproductive technologies, 3d printing, laser cutting and other processes. Lectures will be supported with in-depth readings that focus on the culturally significant aspects of mass production, and emphasis will be placed upon the conceptual rigor that surrounds the student’s body of work. Technical demonstrations and assistance will be provided as appropriate.
Prerequisites: Foundation Sequence, ART-128
