NURS-616: Measurement and Evaluation of Outcomes in Nursing Education

2 credit hours
The philosophy and purpose of measurement and evaluation are explored. The importance of evidence-based education and healthcare practice is emphasized. Analysis of structure, process and outcome evaluation as it is used for program, course, classroom, clinical, in-service, and patient education occurs. A variety of evaluation methods are reviewed. Students gain experience in the critique and evaluation of selected instructional methods including test-item construction.

Prerequisite courses:NURS-608 NURS-610 NURS-609 NURS-661 or at the discretion of the instructor (MSN program faculty).
