This course provides focused study of selected components of the criminal justice system, such as policing, courts, corrections, and community-based justice initiatives. Content varies by semester to address current practices, reforms, and operational challenges affecting system effectiveness and equity. Students analyze the roles, responsibilities, and interrelationships of justice agencies while considering ethical decision making and evidence-based approaches to system improvement. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
