This course examines the structure of the United States Constitution and its role in shaping governmental authority and individual rights. Students analyze landmark Supreme Court decisions addressing federalism, separation of powers, due process, and equal protection, with particular attention to constitutional protections within the criminal justice system. Emphasis is placed on case analysis, legal reasoning, and the application of constitutional principles to contemporary legal and policy debates. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
