Required Advising Session
Each graduate student is required to meet twice a year with their academic advisor. All Psy.D. students entering the program meet with the Associate Chair for advising in the first fall semester and in following semesters until they declare their emphasis area. Once PsyD students declare an emphasis area, they are assigned to an Emphasis Area Director as their advisor. First-year students entering with a bachelor's degree may have, if desired, a year to decide on an emphasis area. By the end of that first year, they must declare an emphasis. Students entering with a Master's degree meet with the Associate Chair in the first semester or an Emphasis Area Director if they have declared an Emphasis Area.
