Bachelor of Science in Education: Chemistry (grades 8-12)
The program of preparation for the Bachelor of Science Education: Chemistry (grades 8-12), and for the initial certificate for teaching, includes a University Studies component, a professional preparation component, a related studies component, and an academic-emphasis component.
Students are required to participate in a minimum of 200 hours of field-based service learning activities that are conducted in public or parochial/private schools. At least half of these hours must be in diverse settings, including one with special needs students.
Candidates must spend at least half of the total 14 week clinical experience/student teaching in diverse public or private school settings.
