Second Degree in Accounting
The demand for accountants is at an all-time high, creating a potential salary of six figures in a professional lifetime. Spalding University has created a Second Degree in Accounting for those individuals that want to change careers and become part of this very desirable and marketable field.
The Second Degree in Accounting is designed for persons with a bachelor's degree in another field who are interested in earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. This innovative degree program affords participants the opportunity to acquire their accounting degree in less than two years or 12 six-week sessions. Students who transfer in any of the major or required support courses can reduce this time even further. Convenient evening and weekend classes are offered to second degree accounting students.
Students in the Bachelor of Science in Accounting program have the opportunity to be automatically admitted to Spalding's Master of Science in Business Communication (MSBC) if they earn an undergraduate GPA of 2.8 or above. Students completing both degrees will more than satisfy both Kentucky's and Indiana's requirement of 150 credit hours, which allows them to sit for the CPA exam. Just as important, the MSBC is specifically designed to fulfill the skill-based needs companies have mentioned are lacking in their employees, but necessary for their companies' success. Both these degrees, combined, may be earned in 16 sessions or roughly 2 years and 4 months.
