This course integrates nursing science, computer science and information science to prepare the DNP in becoming knowledgeable regarding information systems and technology related to healthcare. Information literacy, computer use in healthcare, and the utlization of the electronic health record are explored. Use of technology to analyze outcomes and eamine patterns is emphasized. Information based systems; decision support systems and web-based learning are discussed as a mechanism to improve patient care.
