Successful completion of this program and required tests qualifies candidates for the Kentucky Middle Grades Certificate for the specified academic areas. Middle school teaching areas include English, Math, Science and Social Studies. Candidates may select either (1) two teaching areas (each supported by 24 hours of appropriate academic courses) or (2) one teaching area that is supported by an academic major or equivalent.
