HUM-448: Senior Seminar
3 credit hours
Provides a culmination of the student's previous course work toward the degree. This course is designed to help students synthesize their liberal studies experiences; apply various disciplinary perspectives to shared problems (textual and otherwise); and produce a significant senior paper (or project), as well as a reflective self-assessment that demonstrates the range and depth of their understanding. The course concludes with presentations by students of their papers and self-assessments before the faculty of the program and an evaluator from outside the program. The seminar also serves as an introduction to graduate study. Taught on a rotating basis by all members of the liberal studies faculty.
Prerequisite: Completion of at least 27 hours in the major.
