RJ-304: Restorative Justice Advanced Topics
Students will be challenged to critically assess the theory and principles of restorative Justice (RP). Interdisciplinary in nature, the course allows students to explore various methods of responding non-aggressively and repairing the harm done to relationships in various settings such as civil/criminal Justice settings, schools and businesses. This course is for students who want to enhance their understanding of how to resolve conflict in communities, families, school, and workplace settings according to restorative and compassionate values at a more advanced level. This course involves designing a proposal about how to implement one of the RJ Justice skills in your work place setting or internship placement setting and discussing the experience with the class. You will have mentorship and guidance. You will be required to participate in a lab to learn how to become a victim –offender restorative justice conference facilitator.
Prereq: RJ-301 or have been practicing RP in the community or Permission of the instructor.
