KSAG-210: Graphic Design I

3 credit hours

This course provides students with the tools necessary to solve conceptual problems in creative and concise ways. Students will be taught how to effectively use design elements and technology in order to accurately communicate a concept. Within the course, they will work on projects such as designing logo design, packaging and signage systems, and may be introduced to book design. They will be taught the foundation of graphic design as a medium, based on the structural systems of grids, modules, proportion, progression, symmetry, and rhythm. Students will engage in critical thinking regarding cultural identity, product, and design.
