KSAG-375: Meaning and Image

3 credit hours

This course challenges students' visual thinking and expands their skills in storytelling through  pictures. Images will be analyzed through many critical and philosophical lenses of inquiry. We will explore the use of meaning in image from historical examples including such topics as propaganda and culture-jamming. Projects may include inventing a graphic map from a short walk, using photos to tell a story from multiple points of view, or designing postcards to convey the political ideas of a candidate, or even staging local guerrilla campaigns on issues important to the student.
