This class will focus on the knowledge, skills, and dispositions teacher candidates must demonstrate relative to Kentucky Teacher Standards (Initial Level). Knowledge about the content, pedagogy, and professional areas of teaching that impact instructional effectiveness and student learning will be assessed and priorities for professional development and support will be identified and monitored toward performance outcomes. Materials (e.g., apps, print materials, online resources) and research-based strategies will enhance the quality of professional performance on Praxis 2 examinations required for licensure. This 6-week course may be delivered through a variety of instructional methods. Additionally, the course will be taken prior to or concurrent with a Level II curriculum and/or methods course(s).
