CJ-216: Criminal Procedures

This course examines the criminal procedures present within the criminal justice system. It focuses on the analysis of case materials involving the laws of arrest, search and seizure, identification procedures, the right to counsel, the use of confessions, court proceedings and the prohibition of cruel and unusual punishments. The rights and duties of both citizens and law enforcement officers including remedies for constitutional violations are examined. Other procedure related topics will also be explored.
