ART-385: Advanced Painting: Individual Series Development
3 credit hours
This course is for students who want to broaden their skills in painting while developing an exploratory body of work. The class will be a supportive incubator that will encourage students to develop themes or motifs while searching for meaning and concept. Crucial to the openness of the course directive is students’ willingness to exercise rigorous independent studio habits and weekly critiques. Students may explore both traditional and non-traditional painting processes. Artworks created in this course should be seen as a beginning and will lead and inform the development of future artworks. This course is helpful in cultivating a successful and productive studio practice.
Prerequisites: Any 200 level Painting course
