Analyzes leadership and management functions appropriate to the nurse leader's role. Leadership theories provide the basis for study of leadership functions. A sample of these functions include staffing and staff development, conflict management, risk management, quality management, performance appraisal, etc. The place of caring in the leadership role is assessed. Planning the learning objectives, strategies, and outcomes for the leadership practicum is initiated.
