CJ-225: Juvenile Justice and Restorative Justice
3 credit hours
This course will focus on the following broad but related areas of study: juvenile courts, disproportionate contact, school-to-prison pipeline, differential treatment of special populations, prosecuting and sentencing children as adults, death in prison sentences, and specialized reentry services. This course will also explore contemporary alternatives to the more traditional juvenile justice responses to include the use of restorative practices. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
