CJR-310: Police Reform

This course will introduce, examine, and provide students the skills with which to analyze police reform. This course will emphasize a conceptual approach rather than a statistical focus to studying the creation, implementation, and evaluation of police reform. Topics may include accountability and transparency, excessive use of force and de-escalation policies, police corruption, search and seizure, broken window policing, inadequate training, implicit bias training, community policing, school safety, police militarization, officer wellness, recruitment and retention and more.
