This course will introduce, examine, and provide students the skills with which to analyze re-entry reform. This course will emphasize a conceptual approach rather than a statistical focus to studying the creation, implementation, and evaluation of re-entry reform. Topics may include therapeutic communities, specialized re-entry services, reentry courts, employment and work release programs, substance abuse treatment programs, housing/homelessness programs, programs targeting sex or violent offenders, and programs targeting females, reducing collateral consequences of convictions, supervision that supports youth, improving community supervision and more.
