This course provides an overview of developmental disabilities that can affect children and adults, including the assessment, diagnosis, and evidenced-based treatment of these disorders. Students will also learn how to help families and communities support individuals with developmental disabilities, and consider a lifespan approach to treatment, including social skills and communication training, vocational counseling, and treatment of comorbid mental health problems.
