PSY-658: Psychopathology
3 credit hours
Students will be familiar with the description of, etiology of, and relevant issues surrounding the various diagnostic categories of the DSM-IV. Students will be able to render DSM-IV diagnoses and will obtain knowledge regarding theoretical underpinnings of certain diagnostic criteria. Additionally, students will be able to recognize the strengths and limitations of the current diagnostic system in terms of reliability and validity of diagnostic categories as well as challenges in using the system with diverse populations.
