ECS-550: Introduction to Special Education
3 credit hours/Field Experiences Required
Introduces the field of special education and examines the development of this field, enabling an understanding of the developmental and learning characteristics of students with all types of exceptionalities. This course emphasizes healthy parent and school relations through effective communication; state and federal regulations impacting services for special needs children; and litigation, legislation, regulation, and advocacy issues impacting educational and related services for individuals with academic and/or physical disabilities.
