KSAP-220: Painting: Sensibility and Structure
3 credit hours
Students will deepen their understanding of making paintings in our time when all approaches to painting coexist. They will learn the process of establishing pictorial space while seeing and developing abstract relationships. Non-objective as well as perceptual painting will be practiced to help students gain pictorial literacy through the personal, sensual experience of the painting process. Conceptual venues will be explored to deepen students’ relationship with their work and find personal content. A broader exposure to multicultural, and historical to contemporary work in painting, will stimulate and open students' awareness to today’s possibilities.
