Definitions of Face-to-Face (In Person), Hybrid and Online (Distance Education) Instructional Delivery Format
| Face-to-Face (In Person) | 0 percent of learning content delivered online | Any for-credit instruction where 100% of the delivery of instruction for the course takes place in person with the instructor present in the same physical space as the students. |
| Hybrid | 1 - 50 percent of learning content delivered online | Any for-credit instruction where 1% - 50% of the delivery of instruction for the course utilizes any or all of the following: print material, e-mail, telephone, audio tape, video tape, television/VCR, satellite, or computer for access to CD ROM, interactive video, Internet, or the Web. The instructor must be physically separated from the students for 50% or less of the course. |
| Online (Distance Education) | 51 or more percent learning content delivered online | Any for-credit instruction where 51% or more of the delivery of instruction for the course may utilize any or all of the following: print material, e-mail, telephone, audio tape, video tape, television/VCR, satellite, or computer for access to CD ROM, interactive video, Internet, or the Web. The instructor must be physically separated from the students for 51% or more of the course. |
These definitions follow the guidlines from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commision on Colleges (SACSCOC) and the Kentucky Council of Secondary Education (CPE-Ky).
