Elementary Program
The program of preparation for the Bachelor of Science in Education, Elementary Education, and for the initial certificate for teaching, includes a University Studies component, a professional preparation component, and a related studies component.
Students are required to successfully complete a minimum of 200 field experience hours in assigned school settings. At least half of these hours must be in diverse settings, including one with special needs students.
During the clinical practice experience, candidates will spend approximately half of the required experience in a primary school setting (K-3), and half of the required experience in an intermediate school setting (4-5).
