MATH-106: Quantitative Reasoning

3 credit hours

This course will investigate mathematical concepts at a non-technical level. In this course various mathematical topics will be explored in a way that balances abstract ideas and practical applications. Topics from the following areas will be considered: set theory, number representations, the real number system, number theory, personal finance, counting methods, voting methods, apportionment methods, and graph theory. This course can be used to satisfy a University Studies requirement.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of USM-090 or sufficient math placement score or sufficient standardized test score as published in the Mathematics Placement Policy in the Spalding University Catalog.
