University Structure and Degree Programs
Spalding University is divided into three colleges, which include nine schools, offering graduate and undergraduate programs. The Master of Science in Athletic Training is not within a specific school. The organization of these academic units is summarized below.
COLLEGE OF EDUCATION | KOSAIR CHARITIES COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND NATURAL SCIENCES
| COLLEGE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES
|
For its traditional undergraduate students in the daytime program, Spalding University's academic year includes seven six-week sessions grouped into three terms. The schedule is outlined below:
Fall Term | Session 1 |
Session 2 | |
Session 3 | |
Spring Term | Session 4 |
Session 5 | |
Session 6 | |
Summer Term | Session 7 |
Each session is six weeks in length, and there is a break after each session. A typical course meets for 400 minutes per week, usually in four 100-minute classes. Courses in the FLEX Program meet once per week. The first five meetings are for four hours each, with a final class meeting of two hours. Students have the option to earn up to eighteen credit hours each in the Fall Term and Spring Term, but must complete at least twelve hours of coursework in each of these terms to be considered full-time. Students taking less than twelve hours in a single term would be considered part-time.
Graduate programs are offered in a variety of formats including semesters and evening/weekend delivery options. Specific course delivery formats are available from each school.
The degree programs listed below are offered by the colleges and schools of the University. (For detailed information about options within degree programs, please see information on the specific program.)
