School of Social Work

Mission Statement
The Spalding University School of Social Work is a diverse community of learners dedicated to addressing the social needs of the times by preparing professional practitioners, both graduate and undergraduate, through quality social work studies, built on a liberal arts foundation, infused with spiritual values and professional ethics, with emphasis on service to the most vulnerable members of the community, and the promotion of peace, social change, and social justice.

Accreditation
Both the undergraduate (BSSW) and the graduate (MSW) degrees are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The BSSW program has been continuously accredited since 1974. The MSW program received its first accreditation by CSWE in November 2000. Students graduating from an accredited BSSW program may be admitted to most graduate schools with advanced standing.
