SW-341: Microskills for Professional Helpers: Social Work Practice with Individuals

As the first of a three-course social work practice sequence, this course emphasizes the basic skills of engagement, assessment, planning and intervention, primarily with individuals. The course integrates strengths and empowerment perspectives, and employs case situations that reflect all aspects of human diversity. Learning processes promote self-awareness, attentiveness to values and ethics, critical thinking, and strategies for self-evaluation in micro-level practice. Open to non-social work majors.
