HS-405: Integrative Health- An Introduction

3 credit hours

Integrative health is a state of well-being in body, mind, and spirit that reflects aspects of the individual, community, and population.  The goal of integrative health is to assist a client to develop and manage self-care for increased longevity.   Integrative health is an approach to care that includes practices not traditionally part of conventional medicine, such as acupuncture, massage, yoga, dietary supplements, wellness coaching and meditation. This course will explore the various professions that comprise Integrative Health and the role of each within the plan of care.  Current research will be explored, including the impact of the National Institute of Health's Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
