Business Administration

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
The School of Business offers an undergraduate major in Business Administration with a choice of concentrations: General option, Marketing, Sports Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, and Artificial Intelligence for Business.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) prepares students for many careers in the modern business environment. The program features broad coverage of the functional business areas (accounting, finance, management, marketing, economics, law, technology, and global issues to name a few), while providing students the opportunity to enhance skill sets in communication and teamwork.

The business program and its concentrations are offered in traditional weekday classes and online.

Business Administration 

The general option allows students to select three business electives in order to complete their degree. This concentration provides flexibility for students that transfer in business electives from other universities.

Business Administration – Artificial Intelligence for Business Concentration

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence for Business combines a core business education with an examination of how artificial intelligence tools are applied in a variety of business settings.

Business Administration – Marketing Concentration

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing examines how marketing contributes to the survival and growth of business organizations. Students will obtain a strong fundamental education in marketing, with an emphasis on digital marketing principles, such as search engine marketing, social media marketing, mobile marketing, and digital advertising.

Business Administration – Sports Management Concentration

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management allows students to gain not only a solid background in sports management, marketing, law, and facility and event management but also in general business administration.

Business Administration – Finance Concentration

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance prepares you to make decisions regarding investments, portfolio management, funding, capital structure, real-estate development, and corporate asset management.

Business Administration – Human Resource Management Concentration

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management is designed for students interested in developing the skills for managing an essential resource in any organization--its employees. The curriculum is designed to support the key competencies and skills needed to manage human resources in organizations of all sizes. Students will also develop an understanding of human resources and its strategic relevance in business.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration + MBA - Healthcare Innovation Concentration
For students interested in pursuing the BSBA + MBA - Healthcare Innovation Concentration, the following process should be followed:

  • An undergraduate student currently working on the degree requirements for the BSBA should apply to the MBA program after completing 75 hours at the undergraduate level and before enrolling in his or her first MBA course.
  • Before enrolling in an MBA course, the student must meet all current MBA admission requirements and be accepted into the MBA program.
  • Nine credit hours (3 MBA courses) in the MBA program can satisfy 9 general elective credit hours in the undergraduate program.

Associate of Arts in Business Administration
The Associate of Arts in Business Administration (AABA) is also offered by the School of Business.

  • Required Support Course and General Electives - 5 credit hours

Students in majors other than Business Administration may minor in AI Literacy, Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or Accounting. Accounting majors can also minor in Business Administration, Marketing, or Entrepreneurship.

The ability to be creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial are vital skills across many fields. The Entrepreneurship interdisciplinary minor exposes students to entrepreneurial thinking skills that can be applied to designing new creative ventures, adding value to existing creative organizations, and developing opportunities for individual creative professionals.

The Entrepreneurship minor is open to all university students.
