ART-300: Collaboration and Community

3 credit hours

This Art course fuses elements of creative project-based learning, experiential learning, and team-based learning into real-world projects. Students will have the opportunity to explore areas of professional interest while learning to approach problems through a creative lens. Students will work in teams to identify a community need related to the arts and to develop and execute a creative solution addressing that need. Students will also learn how other artists have utilized community-based art to effect positive and meaningful change. Students will grasp the relevance of their work and develop skills in design thinking and creative problem-solving, collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, project management, and leadership, which are relevant to any career. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
