In ENG653, the student and mentor create a Independent Study Plan for the enrichment semester, which includes five extensive assignments of original creative writing. ENG653 is not a required course but is an elective which students may take to work on a project, or to work in another area of concentration, if an application is accepted by faculty in that area. Students submit midsession and end-of-independent-study evaluations.
