This course will survey artistic traditions of Western cultures in America and Europe through the study of artworks ranging in media, from cave painting to digital art, and time periods ranging from Prehistoric through Contemporary. Illustrated lectures and analytical practices will be supported by students visiting local museums and galleries to examine selected works of art.
