This course covers a global perspective from the 14th century through the mid 19th century. There will be an emphasis on Renaissance Italy and Northern Europe art, however non-western arts and cultures will also be explored. Through key examples from these cultures, styles and periods, students will examine the principals of visual art, its vocabulary, media, and historical context.
