SS-451: Integrative Research
3 credit hours
Provides a culmination of the student's previous course work toward the degree. This course is designed to help students synthesize their social sciences experiences, to apply their various disciplinary perspectives to shared problems (textual or otherwise), and to produce a significant senior paper (or project) and a reflective self-assessment that demonstrates the range and depth of their understanding. The course concludes with presentations by the students of their papers and self-assessments before the faculty of the program and an evaluator from outside the program. The seminar also serves as an introduction to graduate study. Taught on a rotating basis by all members of the social sciences faculty.
