RJ-525: Community Building and Restorative Practices
This course will explore the foundational values and philosophy underpinning the restorative practice of peacemaking and talking circles as a method of building community. Students will learn to design and conduct the circles process for the purpose of peace making, community building and conflict resolution. Both philosophy and practice will be addressed. The course is designed for students and community members interested in using the restorative practice of the circle process to build community and create an organizational climate reflective of the restorative values that build and restore relationships. This course is for senior undergraduates and graduate students who want to enhance their understanding of how to use Restorative Practice for community building.
Prerequisites: RJ-322 or have been practicing RP in the community
