This course allows individuals who have demonstrated expertise in the content of a core course to substitute an independent study in leadership for that course. It requires pre-approval from a program administrator (dean, associate dean, or program director). The course provides participants an opportunity to study and document leadership in action. Participants must submit a plan detailing their expertise and describing their proposed leadership project. A minimum of forty hours over a two month period must be spent on this project. Doctoral Internship may be taken in lieu of only one three-hour core course.
