EPP-630: Securing and Developing Staff

This course will examine the importance of hiring and retaining high quality staff. Examination of legal aspects of working with personnel including evaluation, professional development, site-based decision-making procedures and working with unions will be covered. Background and understanding of public school finance. Principles and practices utilized in collecting, distributing, and managing district and school revenues, with emphasis on Kentucky. Collective bargaining practices and capital facilities development also emphasized. Instructional best practices will also be aligned with teacher standards and expectations as school improvement and professional development plans are developed with alignment and increasing student achievement as the target.
