SW-634: Integrative Practice III

This final course in the interlocking Integrative Practice Concentration sequence builds on the first two courses to solidify competence. In SW634, learners develop skills in engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation, with a focus on the macro and meta arenas of practice. Learners critically apply key theoretical approaches to practice situations. Exercises, activities, and case studies emphasize ethical practice that engages diversity and difference through the lens of human rights and social and economic justice. Learners demonstrate competence in the knowledge, values and skills necessary to engage in research-informed practice and practice-informed research. This course particularly emphasizes responding to contexts that shape social work practice and links with policy action. The course continues the curricular emphasis on professional comportment and development.
