KSAS-380: The Object, Mass Production and Multiples

In this course students will consider the aesthetic and/or socio-cultural aspects of everyday items from the domestic to the industrial, from the rare to the common place. Through the study of contemporary artists and course projects students will explore approaches including appropriating and presenting materials virtually unaltered, finding and modifying objects, and inventing objects to look like mass-produced items. Technical demonstrations and assistance will be provided as appropriate.
Prerequisite: Sophomore standing and KSA-130 or consent of the instructor
