Undergraduate Admission Policy Regarding English Proficiency
Applicants in the following categories must demonstrate English proficiency, regardless of academic history, immigration status or length of residence in the United States or in other English-speaking countries:
- an applicant who has lived outside of the United States where English is not the primary language or medium of instruction
- an applicant for whom English is not the first/native language
- an applicant whose academic transcript evidences the completion of an English as a Second Language (ESL) curriculum
In such instances, applicants may demonstrate English proficiency though any of the following:
- ACT English sub-score of 18 or higher
- SAT I Critical Reading score of 450 or higher
- TOEFL-iBT score of 75 or higher (Internet-based format)
- TOEFL-PBT score of 535 or higher (paper-based format)
