SGC-640: Technology for School Counselors
3 credit hours
This course prepares prospective counselors to utilize technology to collect and monitor student data and to use this data to efficiently plan, organize, communicate, and evaluate comprehensive school counseling programs. Special foci will be given to the study of strategic management procedure applications in school administration utilized at both the school district and individual school site levels. Emphasis will be given to promoting student success on district, state, and national assessments in a multicultural inclusive school. Also, course outcomes include proficiency with student information systems, computer-based career information systems, and assessment techniques relevant to career planning. Experiential opportunities in assistive technology will be utilized in the university’s technology lab. (Min. 10 Clock hours of field Experiences required.)
