CJ-100: Introduction to Criminal Justice

Examines the current past and future of the criminal justice system with an emphasis of changing the prevailing philosophies. Discusses the roles and responsibilities of participants of the criminal justice system such as police, correctional staff, probation and parole personnel, prosecutors, judges, jurors and crime victims. Explores discretionary power in the enforcement of criminal laws and punishment. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
