ART-318: Publishing for Artists

This course is based on book layout and design for artists. Page layout and ideas on continuity and the general aesthetics of book design within the visual arts will be explored and orchestrated. Basic graphic design software will be taught. Throughout the course students will be designing, printing, and binding several soft cover books based on the visual arts. Each student will produce a final book project at the end of the session of their own work, which they will have professionally printed. This final book project will include one or two bodies of their own work, as well as their artist statements.
Prerequisite: Junior standing
