ART-125: Introduction to Printmaking
3 credit hours
This course will develop a working understanding of the materials, aesthetics and practices of intaglio, mono-print, and screen printing. The traditional forms of plate and matrix production will be challenged by using the University Makerspace for production. Through demonstrations, studio work, presentations, readings, and discussions, students will obtain a basic knowledge of printmaking's history and its function in contemporary society. Non- and less– toxic as well as sustainable printmaking techniques and materials are used as much as possible. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
